One of the peaks within the Chornohora range, which fascinates with its bizarre forms, is Mount Shpytsi. It is full of extraordinary rock ledges, the height of which is between 15 and 50 meters. The peak is covered with herbaceous and semi-shrubby alpine meadows.
Attractiveness of Shpytsi is also determined by lots of legends associated with this place. According to one of them, Oleksa Dovbush, the leader of the Ukrainian opryshky movement, is buried here.
The route to Shpytsi usually starts from the village of Bystrets (Ivano-Frankivsk region).
