If you haven’t been to the Carpathian National Nature Park at least once, you haven’t been to the Carpathians at all. Chornohora and Small Horhan, unique virgin forests and glacial lakes, Hoverla and the White Elephant Observatory on Pip Ivan are destinations that make hearts of more and more travelers, researchers, and fans of folk traditions beat faster at the very mention of them.
A 140 kilometers long network of tourist trails provides travelers with safe and informative hiking, as well as protects local flora and fauna from being harmed. Taking you through colorful meadows to rocky heights, journeys of different difficulty levels give you an opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view of local landscapes and to see five largest peaks of Ukraine.
Here in the wild, it is possible (but not recommended) to meet a brown bear or a wolf. Fire salamander, golden eagle, lynx, and black stork enjoy special protection. All fans of the Carpathians are definitely familiar with the Carpathian rhododendron, as well as with other 80 plant species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
The area of the Carpathian National Nature Park is 505.1 sq. km, exceeding the territory of such European countries as Malta, Lichtenstein, and San-Marino taken together.
