Turkul

Mount Turkul has a triangular shape. On its eastern side there are stairs-like ledges formed as a result of weathering of rocks. The southern and southeastern slopes of the mountain are covered with a large number of stone placers, and its top - with evergreen pines and spruces.

Mount Turkul is interesting because of its bowl-shaped deepenings with lakes. To the north of the peak, there are glacial craters which formed the Kizly tract, Lake Nesamovyte and the Turkulska Valley tract.

The name Turkul comes from the Romanian language. It can be translated as "red autumn leaves".

Flat slopes of Mount Turkul are perfect for beginner hikers.

The nearest settlement is the village of Bystrets, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
