Vesnarka Mountain Meadow
The trail starts next to the building of Chornohirskyi Nature Protection Scientific and Research Department. It passes along the Shybenka River and stresses to the Vesnarka mountain meadow. A traditional sheep and cow farming is carried out here in summer.
Maricheika Lake
Then the route leads to Maricheyka Lake which is situated by the northeastern slope of Shuryn-Hropa Mount. Mariheika is a lake of glacier origin. Its banks are covered with subalpine meadows and sedge thickets. The lake is located among dense fir and spruce forests. Its length is 88m, and its width is 45m. The altitude is 1510 m a.s.l.. Maricheika is the second largest lake in the Chornohora massif. One stream, which flows into the Pohorilets River, flows out of it.
Pip Ivan Mount
Finally the trail leads up to Pip Ivan Mount. Plenty of legends are related to the mountain. It is also called “Black Mountain” by local people. There is a building of Polish astronomic and meteorological observatory, a unique monument of Ukrainian history and architecture, on the top of Pip Ivan. It is also called “A White Elephant”. The observatory is the highest building of Ukraine, built in 1938. Many rare plant species grow on the hills of the mount.
