Global Conservation

Global Conservation works internationally in the Park and wildlife protection providing systems, technology and training for park authorities and ranger teams to effectively stop wildlife poaching and illegal logging, while supporting UNESCO World Heritage nomination and sustainable, low-impact, high-value tourism development. Tourism offers an excellent way to provide long-term income for local communities and revenues for park operations, protection and maintenance.

The Scope of the collaboration includes:

  • equip and train CNNP Rangers for using Global Park Defense for effective anti-poaching and illegal logging patrolling.
  • support wildlife population studies using trail cameras and human scientific monitoring.
  • provide training to CNNP and Forest Department staff members and local stakeholders on park and wildlife protection.
  • support training to expand use of Global Park Defence to protect all national parks of the Carpathian region using CNNP as a model.
