Areas of cooperation:
- preserving and use of biological and landscape diversity, natural and cultural heritage of the Carpathian region in general, and the Chornohora massif, in particular
- maintaining general environmental safety of the Carpathian region according to principles of national and international legislation
- encouraging implementation of main provisions of the Framework Convention on the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Carpathians and other international documents
- ensuring efficient operation of the international scientific and educational center «Observatory»
- carrying out scientific researches in the Ukrainian Carpathians, in particular, in the Chornohora massif and adjacent areas, aimed at inventorying, studying, and protecting species of flora and fauna, in particular, rare, endangered, relict, and endemic species, their populations and groups
- developing ecological infrastructure on the platform of the «Observatory» and material base of the Carpathian National Natural Park
- activities aimed at improvement of methodological maps and development of the material and technical base for monitoring of ecology and climate in the Carpathian region, in particular, by developing a potential of stationary post of ecological and meteorological observations of the «Observatory» and promoting its inclusion in national and international networks
- improving the system of nature science in the Carpathian region, sharing knowledge and raising awareness on value of biological and landscape diversity
- implementing science-based approaches to the preservation and management of high-altitude ecosystems of the Carpathians in order to prevent the loss of particularly valuable natural complexes and sites under an influence of anthropogenic factors
- ensuring a realization of the recreational potential of the Chornohora Massif on the base of development of sustainable tourism, reducing negative impact of recreational load on natural complexes and sites
- promoting social and economic development of local communities on the base of sustainable use of biological and landscape diversity, natural and cultural heritage, and establishment of high environmental standards
- ensuring quality of professional and practical training of students through educational practice
- cooperating for development of joint research initiatives, development and improvement of educational programs and their components, curriculums, professional and practical training
- joint implementation of grant and environmental projects
- coordination and exchange of information, experience, human resources and integration of the potentials of both parties to ensure the implementation of above-mentioned areas of cooperation by conducting joint scientific, educational, and ecological activities, implementing joint social and cultural programs, conducting internships and training courses for personnel of the parties (on contractual terms).
