Probiy Waterfall

The Probiy Waterfall is one of the most popular natural attractions in Yaremche. Many tourists come to admire Probiy during their visit to this small and cozy town. Probiy is one of the most full-flowing waterfalls in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is situated on the Prut River in a place of way out onto the surface persistent to erosion rocks.

The waterfall is 8 meters high. According to some versions, it reached 25 meters high in earlier times. However, Probiy was exploded for convenience of timber rafting.

The waterfall got its name from the word «to break through», because the water is going through huge and powerful rocks.

Visitors can enjoy picturesque mountain landscapes as well as observe the noisy waterfall from a 20-meters-high walking bridge. The most curious visitors should be very careful, because the river rocks located higher from the waterfall are slippery and can be dangerous. The waterfall’s flow is so powerful and rapid, that it is impossible to survive after falling into its waters.

The most desperate tourists can try a zipline over the waterfall.
